September 01 — Although Bruce Springteen’s 1978 album, Darkness on the Edge of Town, was not as commercially viable as its predecessor, Born to Run, or as critically lauded as its successor, The River, there is timelessness to its namesake. It contains a gracefulness, as well as a rock-solid power, that only Springsteen’s early, well-inspired songwriting can harness. But what few die-hard fans and critics knew until now was that this fourth major release was boiled down to 10 tracks out of 70 songs or more.
